2007 Council Elections

Final results from the AGM are available.

On 5 June 2007 Nominations opened for the following positions:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Five (5) Councillor positions serving on the Council of InternetNZ

The five councillors whose term expired were Crs Harris, Macaulay, Northover, Riley and Speight. In addition, Cr Michael Sutton resigned from the Council on 16 June 2007.

Nominations for all positions (President, Vice President and Six Council members) closed on Friday 6 July 2007. There were elections for all positions, with no positions being uncontested at the close of nominations.

The President and Vice President, and the top five candidates for Council, are elected for terms of two years, until the conclusion of the 2009 AGM.  The sixth person elected to Council fills the vacancy created by Cr Sutton, and is elected for a one year term until the conclusion of the 2008 AGM.

The President and Vice President are entitled to honoraria for their positions. The 2007 AGM considered a recommendation that all Councillors receive Honoraria.  All meeting and travel expenses are paid for by the Society. Time requirements are detailed in the job descriptions.

Those nominees who wished to do so provided a biography or election statement and a photograph, and these are available below.
