InternetNZ - Biz Info

InternetNZ, and the New Zealand Registry (Domainz) have received
inquiries regarding the two new generic Top Level Domain names (gTLD's)
recently approved by ICANN - ".biz" and ".info". The new names have
nothing to do with the New Zealand (".nz") namespace. The new gTLD's
have been created to expand the domain namespace currently available
internationally only for ".com", ".org", and ".net".
The ".biz" namespace is available for business users only, and ".info" is unrestricted.
Any inquiries should be made direct to the operators of the new gTLD's at http://www.nic.biz and http://www.nic.info.
An agreement to operate another new gTLD ".name" was announced on
July 4 on the ICANN website (http://www.icann.org). Once that name
becomes operational inquirers should use the same format as for ".biz"
and ".info" (http://www.nic.name). ".name" is intended for individual
users.
