Implementation Review of Telcom Act 2001

ICTUS | MED

The Ministry of Economic Development is reviewing the Telecommunications Act 2001 with the objective of improving the processes, providing clarification where necessary of definitions and interpretations and identifying any potential initiatives that could improve the achievement of the Act's objective - to promote competition in telecommunication markets for the long term benefit of telecommunications service users in New Zealand.

The submission is due on 4 February 2005 and InternetNZ is looking to co-ordinate an industry response to this important review to ensure an effective and strongly supported submission.

We have prepared a survey at the following link www.ictus.org.nz which breaks down the review into four main issues for your convenience. Also at this link you will find the MED Discussion Paper on the Review.

Your views and concerns are important to us and we invite you to share these with us to ensure they are addressed in a response to the MED.
