Constitution Review Working Group Report 23/02/01

Report from the Constitutional Working Group

We have now covered more than half of the ToR and are working towards something like a final draft of our proposals for the middle of March. This should give time for a proper finalisation for distribution in time for the tentatively fixed date for the SGM at the beginning of May.

The areas covered have principally been membership, both individual and corporate. Two rounds of proposals have been posted to the Web site and hopefully we will be able to make a third round towards the end of the month.

A Consultation list has been established at consult-constitution@isocnz.org.nz which is available to all members and notification of the list and web site papers has been published on ISOCNZ-Announce.

There has been a small, but important, amount of feed-back at this point in time which we hope will increase as we get closer to final draft.

We would like to note that we are not expecting to cover the full gamut of the constitution before the proposals-to-date will go before an SGM and some work will, of necessity, be continued in to the next General year. Emphasis for the initial "final" report will therefore be on issues that will (might) have bearing on the conduct of the AGM and elections.
