Report 24/08/00

ISOCNZ Domainz Model Review Working Group

Report to Council August 2000

Action points following AGM circulated to WG 28 June:

+ Steve and Don get the model-review list going discussing the aspects of the thick/thin issue. You might troll some other lists now that we have so much publicity and try to increase participation.

Don has produced a draft thin model on 18 August.Steven has indicated he should be able to work on his in the next two weeks.

+ Rick follows up on the competition thing. You said your firm had used someone better than Lew Evans so chase them and see if they'll giveyou a 2nd opinion, or at least find out what it would cost.

Nothing from Rick on this front, but Evans' report has been largely discredited.

+ John contacts Lew Evans and sees what else they will do for free and tries to encourage them to do by the 17th.Then catches up on the rest of his work (and skiing).

Lew was overseas so I didn't talk to him until after the full report had been issued. This became a nothing. Enjoyed the skiing.

+ Write final draft up to 4 August and publish for a weeks comment. Rewrite for the 15th.

Nothing had happened, nothing to write up.

Then from the Council meeting of 7 July

+ Send hard copies of report to restricted mailing list because of finances.Gail to forward to review mailing list and WG to select addresses while John is skiing.

Gail forwards Monday 10 July. John gets addresses back to Gail on 29 July who sends them outwhen she returns from holiday.Additional copies sent whenmoney becomes available, 8 August.

28 July -Steven and Don meet with Domainz. Written summary fromJames Scott on 3 August.

  1. Steven and Don will document several example models to motivate specifics of discussion.John to edit into common form and perhaps include Canada. Will also post a standard blank form so others can add their designs.Discussion to continue until ...

This is a restatement of strategy agreed a month earlier.John completed a model on 6 August, Don on 18 August and we are stillwaiting for Steven's.John and Don have discussed thiers but we have not had comment from Steven and Rick. Not posted to web site yet.
