Description:

APTLD (the Asia Pacific Top Level Domains Association) is an association of ccTLD managers from the Asia Pacific region. It provides a forum for ccTLD managers to share ideas, expertise and experience, and engages in policy- and technical-level discussion and training.

The Secretariat function is contracted by APTLD to support the organisation fulfil its functions. It is a low-level administrative role, supporting the General Manager and where necessary the Board, through accounting services, meeting preparation and services, web and mail list services, and so on.

Expenses are party offset through a nominal fee paid by the Association.

InternetNZ will reach its term limit in performing the APTLD Secretariat during 2009. Note that the Executive Director’s participation in APTLD events is a .nz expense, funded by the Domain Name Commission Ltd.

Budget:

$10,000 in 2009/10.

Overall Progress Summary:

In June, APTLD announced that HKIRC would be the new secretariat, with their term formally beginning on 1 July. A transition plan was drafted by the outgoing Secretariat. The plan was finalised in early July and the transition began. It will be completed with an audit of the accounts and a handover meeting in August.

  • APTLD Hyderabad meeting cancelled due to speakers withdrawing after Mumbai terrrorist attacks in late November.
