Michael Payne

Michael Payne Pic

I joined InternetNZ as an Individual Member in 2006 after having worked in a Service Centre for Hewlett Packard repairing laptops and computers.

Currently I work as a Freelance I.T Consultant to a few volunteer organisations, as well as studying extramurally through Massey University to complete my Engineering Degree (Computer & Electronics), and through Unitec in Auckland to become a Registered Electrician.

I support InternetNZ’s vision and have interests in Rural Broadband, Multimedia and Telecommunications. I’m knowledgeable on the newly announced BIF (Broadband Initiative Fund), as well as taking interest in Telecom’s Operational Separation Plan.

I am also a member of TUANZ (Telecommunication Users Association of NZ), and outside of work/study my interests are Music, Ice Skating and the Outdoors.

I believe my experience will be of value to InternetNZ if elected.
