Sam Sargeant

I was elected in 2006, shortly before council received the first reports from the structual review. We voted to support the proposed new structure and since then have created two business units, and transformed one unit into a separate company.

Now the changes have been put in place we have nine months left until a review of the new structure is commenced. I am confident that the society can continue to generate positive outcomes for New Zealand and the Internet in our new form. The challenge for council is to now focus on good governance and guide our subsidiaries in the interests of the society.

I have enjoyed the opportunity to represent members on council for nearly two years. I am eager to continue my service and contribute to this new challenge. I am not seeking an appointment to any of the subsidary boards, but I do aim to be involved and contribute to any technical policy committee of the society.

I am currently the CTO of Modica Group and planning a wedding this year with my partner Amy.
