Dispute Resolution Service Policy
The Working Group has completed consultation on the draft Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) Policy and made amendments based on the comments received. A copy of the final version of the policy was submitted to NZOC and discussed at their meeting on 21 February.
This policy provides an alternative to the Courts in situations where two parties are in dispute over who the registrant of a .nz domain name should be. There are two parts to the document – the first defining the policy and Part B the procedure supporting the policy.
NZOC supports the work of the Working Group and have agreed the version of the DRS policy which is enclosed with this paper for Council’s consideration. If no issues are identified by Council then the NZOC intends for this policy to become effective from 1 June 2006.
