NZOC Monthly Report for December 2005
NZRS Report
NZRS have produced their monthly report for December 2005. Main points NZOC would like to highlight with Council are:
System availability for December was 99.94% against the SLA standard of 99.9%
There was an outage at 00:30 hrs on 14 December which lasted for 19 minutes and 31 seconds. There were also a number of micro outages over the month which combined totalled 7 minutes and 57 seconds. Total outage time over the month was 27 minutes and 28 seconds.
The maintenance window for December was utilised on 11 December

The total number of WHOIS queries decreased from 1,631,000 to 1,590,000
The level of active .nz domain names increased from 207,228 to 209,927, a net increase of 2,699
.nz Policies and Procedures
2.1 Registrar Compliance
NZOC, at their meeting on 15 December, endorsed the DNC’s decision to deauthorise DNMSL on the grounds as advised to the registrar. DNMSL subsequently received formal notice of their deauthorisation on 21 December and their status as an authorised registrar formally ended on 29 December 2005. DNMSL selected an alternative registrar for all their names so there was no impact on registrants as a result of the deauthorisation.
2.2 Policy Reviews
There are currently no reviews being undertaken
2.3 Applications
No applications were received under the Zone Transfer Policy and no applications for a new Second Level Domain were received.
Registrar authorisation and connection
No further organisations were authorised as a .nz registrar over the month. There were also no new connections to the production system.

DRS Planning
Work during December included:
Consultation on the draft policy continued with a few submissions received towards the end of the month. These can be seen at http://dnc.org.nz/drs-consultation
Ongoing development of the online filing of complaints, responses and replies together with work on the wording of the information on the DRS portion of the DNC website
Finalising the role descriptions, agreements and other documents relating to Mediators and Experts. These were provided to LEADR and AMINZ at the end of the month to send out to their members
Advertising for applicants for the roles of Experts and Mediators, on the DNC and InternetNZ websites
DNC Office
A draft job description for a part time Administration Assistant to assist with the DRS work has been prepared and recruitment for this will take place early next year. It is expected that the person in this role will be available to assist the InternetNZ team also if workloads are low.
