The major activity in the last two months has been around the UBS draft determination from the Commerce Commission.
1. UBS Determination
- Considered draft determination
- Engaged Michael Wigley to prepare submission, consulting with ISPs
- Considered all submissions
- Sought approval from Council for funding of further cross-submission and participation in the Conference, due to importance of determination to the local Internet community
- Approved cross-submission
- Consideration of all cross-submissions
- Preparation for Conference
2. Code of Practice
- The Committee considered a process for further development of the code, noting most issues raised were to do with how the code would operate, not the content of the code
- At its next meeting, it will consider a summary of submissions, which includes the three biggest ISPs
3. Cleanfeed Trial
- It was agreed to meet with DIA to discuss legality and parameters of a trial
- Following this a proposal for the trial will be considered
4. Spam
- Legislation is not now expected before the election
