Acting Secretary
- Ran election for new Secretary
Admin Committee
- Attended two meetings
- Drafted key targets for Executive Director
- Revised paper on dividend requirements
Sale of Domainz
- Provided some analysis of final bids
- Drafted reports to (NDA members of) Council
- Assisted President with final negotiations
- Drafted communications material for sale
- Signed sale agreement (yay!)
geek.nz, IPv6 and DNSSEC
- As VP, arranged and chaired meeting between interested parties
- Wrote summary and paper for Council
Governance & Constitutional Committee
- Attended one meeting
- Wrote opinion piece on pros and cons of Exec Committee
Legal & Regulatory Committee
- Chaired a meeting (in Auckland)
Spam
- Wrote a paper proposing details of an anti spam campaign
- Read David Harris' comprehensive white paper on spam
- Attended meeting with DMA and others re spam in Auckland
- Drafted complaints re Shane Atkinson spamming
- Handled several media inquiries re spam issues
DET Patent
- Arranged approval for legal advice from AJ Park
- Liased with reps of affected businesses
- Drafted paper on establishing Patent Advisory Group
Cyberlaw
- Given feedback to Simon Riley on proposed agreement
- Sought input from L&R Committee
Digital Copyright
- Drafted letter to ISPs on this issue
Terrorism Bill
- Examined clauses regarding duty to assist Police with computer access
- Drafting letter to Minister re re-wording
Media
- in absence of ED, along with President handled media inquiries on various topics including viruses
Final SRS Report
- commissioned Doug Mercer to write this
Strategic Planning
- attended Strategic Planning Day and liased with Strategic Planning Taskforce on associated issues
