Council Election Results

ELECTION OF COUNCIL MEMBERS

The Annual General Meeting of The Internet Society of New Zealand Inc. was held on 13 November 1996.

The meeting changed the structure of the society's council. One member continues to be appointed by the society's Industry Advisory Group, but all other members of council are now elected by the membership. The council has a total of twenty seats.

The council members elected at the AGM for a two year term were:

Seven current members of the Council of The Internet Society of New Zealand were elected in 1995 for a two-year term. They are:

A further seven current council members were elected in 1995 for a term ending in November 1997.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

The society's council met on Thursday, 14 November, and elected Jim Higgins as Chairperson of the Society. Jim replaces foundation chairperson Roger Hicks. Donald Neal was re-elected as Secretary and Colin Jackson as Treasurer. All of the officers were elected unopposed.
