Admin Committee Report on Delegated Powers 03/08/01

Note that none of these delegated powers are seen as a change this is formalising the existing practice.

The Admin Committee resolved to recommend to Council that all Committees and the Executive Director be delegated powers as specified in their terms of references.

That the President be delegated general management of the Society on a day to day basis, that he may further delegate these to staff, and be the Societys primary spokesperson

That the Secretary be delegated authority to deal with routine administrative matters, and that he may further delegate these to staff.

That the Treasurer be delegated authority to deal with routine financial matters, and that he may further delegate these to staff.

That Cmte and WG Chairs may co-opt additional people to their Cmtes in consultation with the President, and notify to Council.

That Cmte and WG Chairs may remove members from their Cmtes in consultation with the President, and notify to Council and the individual concerned.

That the Executive Director be delegated authority for staffing issues (excluding her own), the running of the Office and in conjunction with the President be a spokesperson for the Society.
