Honoraria Report 15/09/01

The AGM approved Honoraria for all Crs, not just Cmte Chairs and Officers. Current Honoraria are:

• Keith D $20,000
• DPF $3,000
• Steven $3,000
• Peter DT $3,000
• Howard $3,000
• Bob $3,000
• David Z $3,000
• Rick $3,000
• TOTAL $41,000

That leaves 12 Crs who are not Officers or Cmte Chairs.

Admin Committee recommends honoraria of $500 per Cr (paid as $125 per quarter) would be an appropriate level for Councillors who are not Committee Chairs - adding $6,000 to the budget.

This is not intended as full reimbursement for time and expenses put into InternetNZ but a minimal contribution.

A more full review of Honoraria will need to be done as part of the 002/03 budget process taking into account potentially reduced funding and this is schedule

In terms of assessing whether honoraria have been earned it is proposed that all 19 Crs file a quarterly report on their activities and self nominate what portion of the eligible Honoraria they believe they should get (full, partial [specify], none).

A secret e-vote ballot of all Crs is held on whether each Honoraria is paid. How people voted is not revealed but the results for each person is. If some-one has significant votes against this puts a degree of public pressure onto them to lift their performance.
