Report of the Legal & Regulatory Affairs Committee 25/05/01

With the 1 June 2001 closing date for initial submissions on domain name dispute resolution fast approaching, there has been little debate on the lists. This is not entirely unexpected, since it is always easier for people to comment on proposals rather than debate in a vacuum.

Invitations to make submissions have however been posted to 2-300 organisations and it is expected that there will be greater interest in the next round of the consultation process. WIPO has approached us with a suggestion that one of their legal people may be down in Australia in June and keen to come over to New Zealand to participate in a public forum on this issue.
