Executive Director Contract and 'At risk' Salary Payment

The Administration Committee is responsible for reviewing the 'at risk' portion of the Executive Director's Salary. Given the intense workload of the past two quarters this has not been carried out formally. Nevertheless, the office has functioned at high efficiency, especially in the period leading up to the Summit and the AGM. During a period earlier this year when Sue expressed concern that she was unable to quarantee that the office would be able to meet all the demands placed on it, I notified Sue in writing that her highest priority is to ensure that the consitutional requirements of the Society are met. This has certainly been achived despite considerable pressure. The Committee has therefore approved continued payment of Sue's salary in full to the end of the current year. Note that Sue's contract is due for review in August.

Honoraria for Office Holders and Committee Chairs

Honoraria are currently established at $20,000 pa for the Chair and $3,000 pa for Committee Chairs and the Treasurer. The second quarter payments are now due subject to formal review and approval by Council.

In the light of the possible budget issues which will be raised as part of the Executive Director's report, it is recommended that the current quarterly payments be made but that honoraria be suspended until Council is satisfied that the budget position is clarified and staff salaries are ensured.
