InternetNZ successfully hosted APNIC 26 at the Christchurch
Convention Centre on 25 – 29 August 08.
APNIC selected InternetNZ as its host
after they received a strong proposal from Jonny Martin.

Overall Progress Summary:
APNIC
26 was a five-day event that brought together Internet and networking experts,
government representatives, industry leaders, and other interested parties from
around the Asia Pacific region to network with colleagues, attend workshops and
tutorials, and discuss policies.
Wendy Balfour was contracted to carry the general administrative work load of hosting the meeting.

Conclusion:
Overall the event was considered very successful - one of the biggest mid-year APNIC meetings to date with over 250 people in attendance.
Notably the policy discussion on IPv6 was very lively. 8/10

September 2007 - August 2008:
InternetNZ contracted organiser - Wendy Balfour, Jonny Martin and INZ Staff worked with APNIC to organise the meeting.
September 2007:
Bid to host the APNIC meeting confirmed.
Organisation began. Huge staff workload was identified for the month of
August 08 and Wendy Balfour recruited to support INZ in hosting the
event.
