Description:

InternetNZ is an active member of The Internet Society (ISOC), a non-profit organisation founded in 1992 to provide leadership in Internet related standards, education, and policy.

ISOC is the organisational home for the groups responsible for Internet infrastructure standards, including the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the Internet Architecture Board (IAB). 

Keith Davidson and Jordan Carter sit on ISOC's Public Policy Committee.

Budget:

$9,000 has been budgeted for the project in 2009/10.

Overall Progress Summary:

InternetNZ continues its membership of and engagement with ISOC. This benefits the Society's technical and public policy work by gaining access to the latest thinking internationally, through ISOC. 

Activities Planned for May 2009:

  • Participating in discussions with ISOC re a copyright topic for the IGF in November.
