Glen Eustace bio / election statement
I have worked in IT at Massey University for the last 30 years. During this time I have had a number of roles; Programmer, Analyst/Programmer, Senior Analyst/Programmer, Systems Manager, Systems Engineer - Networking, Infrastructure Development Engineer. The last 20 years I have been actively involved with the architecture, development and implementation of the University's IT infrastructure, which has included the Internet and its use. My current responsibilities involve developing a highly available infrastructure to ensure business continuity as part of the University's Disaster Recovery Plan.
Since 1997, I have also owned and operated a small niche (boutique) ISP, GodZone Internet Services. As far as GodZone is concerned, I wear all the hats. GodZone has been an authorised Registrar of the NZSRS since the its beginning and in that capacity I have now been a member of the DNC's Registrar's Advisory Group for the last 2 years.
I hope, as my contribution to the council, to present opinions from 2 view points, the first as a representative of one of the countries largest tertiary institutions and second as the owner of a small Internet based business.
