Dear Sue:

Re: Your Fair Share Contribution of US$8,114.00

ICANN depends on the financial support of its constituents to fund its operations. The accompanying letter explains why ICANNs work is important to the global Internet community and why ICANN is seeking your voluntary support. I do hope you will be able to meet our request.

As described in the accompanying letter, based on a methodology developed in consultation with the Budget Group whose members are appointed from among all registries we are suggesting that your fair share contribution is noted above. The methodology for arriving at this suggested figure for your 2000-2001 contribution is the same as described in Appendix A to ICANNs proposed 2001-2002 budget, which can be found at http://www.icann.org/financials/proposed-budget-14may01.htm .

Although in the absence of any agreement with you there is no legal obligation for you to provide any funding, I and the ICANN Board of Directors do hope you can provide us with at least the above suggested contribution so that we can render effective services to you and your fellow ccTLD registries and fulfill our responsibilities to the global Internet community. We recognize, however, that your particular circumstances may not allow you to do so and thank you for whatever support you feel ready to give.

I would appreciate it if you could print and return by fax (+1-310-823-8649) the statement of intention to contribute that can be found at http://www.icann.org/financials/intent.htm . In some parts of the world this statement of intent is known as a "pledge card". Upon receipt of this pledge card, we will send you an invoice for the amount you intend to contribute. Of course, you may mail your check directly to ICANN at 4676 Admiralty Way, Suite 330, Marina del Rey, CA 90292. Either way, we would appreciate a response to arrive before June 30, 2001 so that we may include the amount in our year-end financial statement.

I have been informed that there are some registries who would prefer to pay according to a specified invoice rather than make a contribution. This is for administrative reasons. If this is so in your case, an alternative form on which to state your intention to pay can be found at http://www.icann.org/financials/intent.htm . Please let us know what is best for you and we will work with you accordingly.

With regards,
M. Stuart Lynn
