IAC Report 25/05/01

REPORT TO COUNCIL BY INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE - MAY 25 2001

IAC recommends that in accordance with the strategic plan, the budget and past Council practice the Chair of International Affairs and the Executive Director attend the coming round of meetings in Stockholm from May 30 to June 4.

The most relevant business of the meetings include the continued preparation of various practice standards for CCs and the development of the contractual framework for CCs within ICANN, terms of payment to ICANN, its budget and the rules for re-delegation.

Sue has recently posted the meeting agendas which can be seen at the ICANN, CCTLD, and APTLD websites.

The costs for this trip are approximately $19,000 which is within the budget.

APTLD:

It is now time to pay our membership subscriptions and IAC recommends that, according to the strategic plan, the sum of $US2,500 be paid.

ICANN Subscriptions:

Members will have seen the request for voluntary contributions, which in our case is scheduled at $US8,114. IAC recommends that payment of this voluntary contribution be withheld pending the outcome of negotiations in Stockholm.

CCTLD Constituency:

According to the strategic plan and budget, IAC recommends payment of our contribution of $US5,000.
