ICANN
Report of the International Affairs Committee - June and July 2004
APTLD
- InternetNZ has been awarded the contract to operate the APTLD Secretariat at the end of the term of the current secretariat, .tw. The term begins January 1 , 2005.
- Members of the InternetNZ team will attend the next APTLD meeting in Perth on November 5 to begin the process of handover from the .tw staff.
Other Representation
- Keith Davidson attended a PICSOC meeting in Vanuatu: his report to IAC is attached .
- David Harris attended an Anti Spam meeting in Korea in September. ( report to come )
- Jennifer Northover attended a CENTR general Assembly in Armenia in September ( report to come)
ICANN
- ICANN representative Michael Evans visited Wellington to evaluate the technical aspects of the InternetNZ bid to host the March 2006 ICANN meeting. A separate report from Keith Davidson, who has managed that bid is attached.
- InternetNZ will be represented at the ICANN meeting in Capetown in December by Peter Dengate Thrush, Keith Davidson and Colin Jackson.
- Grant Forsyth has been a member of ICANN's Nominating Committee, which appointed new ICANN board members, and, for the first time, 3 members of the Council of the ccNSO. There have been no further New Zealanders appointed.
- ICANN has received the crucial votes from g-Registrars necessary to approve its budget.
